Frequently Asked Questions |
| Information about
the treatment of pearly penile papules |
|
1) Are pearly
penile papules dangerous and are they infectious?
No. The papules are not dangerous and are nothing
to be concerned about. The main concern that sufferers
have is how others will react to them. Many people
who we meet have had negative responses from sexual
partners at some point in their past due to the
presence of the papules. Pearly penile papules are
not sexually transmitted infections and cannot be
transmitted from one person to another. Find out
the basics about PPP on our
homepage.
2) How long does the treatment
for pearly penile papules last?
The treatment for pearly penile papules lasts approximately
30mins - 45mins.
3) How much does the treatment
of pearly penile papules cost?
Dr Joshua Berkowitz charges £495, including the
consultation, procedure, post procedure care and the
post procedure consultation.
4) Is it painful to remove
the papules?
The procedure that Dr. Joshua Berkowitz carries out
at the Wimpole Aesthetic Centre in London is not painful
and can be done under a local anaesthetic which is applied
as a cream. Following the treatment, patients are fully
mobile and can continue with their day-to-day responsibilities.
5) Does it take long for
the penis to recover fully?
Many patients do not require any sort of pain relief
following the removal of their papules. A full recovery
is made within 8 - 10 days of the treatment, but during
this time the level of discomfort is at an absolute
minimal.
6) Does it hurt to urinate after the treatment?
Absolutely not - Urination is pain-free! However,
we would not advise on having sexual intercourse for
approximately 8 -10 days after the procedure.
7) Where does Dr Berkowitz
carry out the procedure?
Dr Berkowitz is based at the Wimpole Aesthetic Centre
in London, UK, and carries out all of his procedures
at this clinic. People often ask us to recommend alternative
doctors who may be located nearer to where they live,
however at this time we are unaware of anybody else
specialising in this field. As a result, clients come
from far and wide to see Dr Berkowitz and it is not
uncommon for patients from other countries to visit
London in order to receiver treatment for their papules.
8) Is there any risk of
the PPP treatment causing impotence?
Absolutely not. The treatment that Dr Berkowitz carries
out does not effect the function of the penis and
runs no risk of triggering impotence. The treatment
is safe, effective and is not harmful to the patient's
genitals.
